To be considered for admission to the program, a student must be admitted to the College of Graduate Studies. The application for admission should be sent to the College of Graduate Studies at least six weeks for domestic student and at least six months for international student prior to the beginning of the first semester of anticipated enrollment in classes.

Admission to MSIS

To be considered for regular admission to the MSIS program, an applicant must have:

* a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

* an undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.7 in the last two years of study

* completed five prerequisite courses with a grade point average of at least 2.7 and no course grade lower than a C. The prerequisites at Central Michigan are:
BIS 221 Computers in Business I
ACC 201 Principles of Accounting I
ACC 202 Principles of Accounting II
MTH 116 Mathematics for Business I or
MTH 132 Calculus I
STA 282 Introduction to Statistics

Prerequisites need to be taken prior to taking courses in the program. You may satisfy these prerequisites at any accredited institution. Not satisfying these prerequisites may delay graduation as many required courses in the program are only offered once a year. It is imperative that you meet with your advisor to discuss scheduling as soon as you are admitted into your program.

Applicants who have not satisfied the prerequisite course requirements will be considered for conditional admission, but they must complete the prerequisites before beginning their graduate course work.
