BIS 640 - Essentials of Transaction Processing Systems 2(2-0)
Prerequisites: MBA 504, CBA 600, and knowledge of advanced business applications in spreadsheet software.
Course Description: The development of information systems for processing business transactions using a procedural programming language including the concepts and techniques of on-line, interactive systems and of file-oriented systems for processing daily business transactions.
BIS 641 - Essentials of Business Systems Analysis and Design 2(2-0)
Prerequisites: MBA 504, MBA 510, CBA 600 and knowledge of advanced business applications in spreadsheet software.
Course Description: Essentials of the analysis and design of business systems; studying the current system, and developing system alternatives.
BIS 642 - Essentials of Business Systems Applications 2(2-0)
Prerequisites: BIS 640 and BIS 641
Course Description: The major information systems of an organization and use of the tools of systems analysis in a real-world situation.
BIS 643 - Essentials of Database Management 2(2-0)
Prerequisites: BIS 640 and knowledge of advanced business applications in database software.
Course Description: Essential database concepts with emphasis on the relational model and its application to business systems.
BIS 644 - Decision Support for Management 2(2-0)
Prerequisites: MBA 609; or equivalent
Course Description: Concepts and practices of decision support systems are investigated for assisting managers in decision making including current research issues. A decision support system is developed using a fourth-generation computer language.
